The Black Watch discusses ‘The Drop: A Snowfall Saga’ spinoff

The editorial series ‘The Black Watch’ recently featured a discussion regarding ‘The Drop: A Snowfall Saga,’ a spinoff expanding the television universe created by the late John Singleton.

Set approximately four years after the conclusion of the original ‘Snowfall’ series, the new production follows characters Wanda and Leon as they attempt to reinvent themselves in 1990s Los Angeles. The series shifts focus from the crack era to a period defined by changing gang culture and the emergence of West Coast hip-hop in South Central.

A panel including BOSSIP Managing Editor Dani Canada, comedian Richard T. Jones, producer Serita Wesley, and Jeremie Rivers discussed the premiere. Jones noted that while he was initially hesitant about a spinoff, the first episode changed his perspective.
