The Block cast reacts to controversial AI editing

Cast and hosts of the Australian reality series ‘The Block’ have shared mixed reactions regarding the use of artificial intelligence in the show’s editing for the 2026 season. The AI implementation includes personalized music, outfit changes, and visual effects such as contestants being transformed into spirit animals.

Host Scott Cam expressed that while he enjoys the music, he would prefer the AI-generated elements to be “peppered throughout” rather than being so prominent. Co-host Shelley Craft noted that the visual transformations caught her off guard but suggested the editors are having fun with the new technology. Judge Shaynna Blaze also admitted to having mixed feelings, stating she prefers traditional methods as she is “not an AI person.”
