The Block contestants address Tayla’s work ethic claims

Contestants on the reality renovation series ‘The Block’ are addressing viewer criticism regarding Tayla’s work ethic. While some fans have accused Tayla of being “lazy” and leaving her father, Rick, to handle the majority of the heavy lifting, fellow contestants have offered a different perspective.

Co-stars Lisa and Rosco noted that while Rick carries a “heavier load,” Tayla is primarily there to support her father’s lifelong dream and boost morale. Other contestants, Chantel and Wyatt, admitted they did not observe much of her work on the building site initially due to the high stress of their own renovations.

Reports also indicate that Tayla’s participation was unexpected. Rick had originally applied for the show over a decade ago with Tayla’s twin sister, Shannen, but Tayla eventually stepped in to partner with him after Shannen moved overseas.
