The Boring Company proposes Hyperloop tunnel between Austin and San Antonio
Elon Musk has announced that The Boring Company is developing a “simple precursor Hyperloop” tunnel to connect Austin and San Antonio in Texas. The project aims to reduce the travel time between the two cities from up to 2.5 hours in current traffic to less than 30 minutes by utilizing speeds exceeding 200 mph.
The Boring Company confirmed its interest in the massive infrastructure project. While the company currently operates a Loop system in Las Vegas and recently secured $3 billion in funding led by investors from the United Arab Emirates, the Austin-San Antonio proposal remains in the early stages.
