The Boring Company secures $3 billion investment for global expansion

The Boring Company has secured $3 billion in Series D funding, led by the United Arab Emirates and affiliated investment entities. This capital injection brings the company’s valuation to $23 billion, a significant increase from its $5.7 billion valuation in 2022.

The new funds are designated for expanding loop systems, advancing Prufrock tunnel-boring machine technology, and increasing headcount across engineering, operations, and production departments. In the UAE, the company has committed to constructing over 150 kilometers of tunnels, including a 6.4-kilometer Dubai Loop pilot expected to begin construction late this year.

In the United States, the company is aggressively expanding its Vegas Loop in Las Vegas. The company announced plans to double its station count by the end of 2026, targeting 28 stations. This expansion follows Clark County’s approval of entitlements for a total of 123 stations. Recent developments include a dual tunnel system under Paradise Road intended to improve access to Harry Reid International Airport and various hospitality sites.
