Bronx police investigate fatal fall of mother and infant from 15th floor

Nathaly Ramirez, a 23-year-old Dominican woman, died early Tuesday morning after falling from a 15th-floor balcony of an apartment building in the Allerton section of the Bronx. Her eight-month-old daughter, who was reportedly in her arms during the fall, survived but remains in critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center.

The NYPD is investigating the incident, with some sources indicating the case is being treated as a homicide. Witnesses reported hearing a woman screaming, 'Please don't do this!' shortly before the fall. Investigators are looking for Ángel Carrasco, a 31-year-old man and Ramirez's ex-boyfriend, who is considered a person of interest. Reports suggest Carrasco may have visited the apartment with flowers in an attempt to reconcile before a dispute occurred.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing residents of the Allerville Arms building to determine the exact circumstances of the fall. Carrasco reportedly has a history of domestic violence allegations involving Ramirez.
