The Cable Guy to receive 4K Ultra HD Steelbook release

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbook edition of the 1996 dark comedy “The Cable Guy” to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The film, directed by Ben Stiller and starring Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick, has been newly restored from the original camera negatives.

The high-definition release will feature Dolby Vision and HDR10. The English audio track will include a Dolby Atmos sound mix, while the German audio is expected to feature a 5.1 surround mix. The collector's edition is scheduled for release on October 8, 2026, and will include various bonus features such as deleted scenes, auditions, a making-of documentary, and a music video.
