The Chicks announce 20th anniversary tour and album rerelease

The country music group The Chicks is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their fourth studio album, ‘Taking the Long Way’. The band, consisting of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer, will launch the ‘Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour’ starting September 30 in Detroit.

Following the tour launch, a 20th Anniversary Edition of the album will be rereleased on October 2 via Legacy Recordings. This edition will include three unreleased demos and two rarities, ‘Thin Line’ and ‘Live Wire’. Fans will also have access to early versions of tracks including ‘So Hard’, ‘Flowers’, and ‘Not Ready to Make Nice’.

The tour has recently expanded to include additional stops in Philadelphia, Boston, and three shows in Los Angeles, where the group plans to perform the entire album in its entirety.
