The Chosen wraps filming after eight-year production

Filming for the multi-season series ‘The Chosen’ has officially concluded after eight years and 528 days on set. Creator Dallas Jenkins marked the milestone near Dallas, Texas, describing the conclusion of the production as the end of a marathon.

Originally launched in 2018 as a crowdfunded project, the series grew into a global phenomenon, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The production has seen significant career transformations for its lead actors, including Jonathan Roumie, who portrays Jesus, Shahar Isaac, who plays Peter, and Elizabeth Tabish, who portrays Mary Magdalene.

While filming has wrapped, post-production is still ongoing for the final seasons. Season 6 is scheduled to launch in November, while the seventh and final season is expected to be released in 2028.
