The Christophers movie starring Ian McKellen debuts on Hulu

The black comedy film ‘The Christophers’, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel, has made its streaming debut on Hulu.

Written by Ed Solomon, the film follows an aging painter whose children attempt to hire a secret restorer to complete a series of unfinished portraits to increase their value. The plot involves the painter discovering the scheme and forming an unexpected bond with the artist to outsmart his children.

Despite a limited theatrical release that grossed approximately $4 million, the film has earned critical acclaim, maintaining a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. The cast also includes James Corden and Jessica Gunning.
