The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hosted the V Media Encounter in the Dominican Republic, bringing together journalists, media directors, and representatives from various national press organizations. The event, themed ‘Your story began long before you,’ focused on the importance of discovering, preserving, and sharing family history and ancestral legacies.

During the gathering, the Church recognized communicator Jatnna Tavárez for her distinguished career spanning over three decades. The award highlighted her professionalism, dedication to the art of communication, and her ability to connect with the public. Tavárez expressed gratitude for the respectful environment and emphasized the responsibility of media professionals to act with resilience and to serve as a voice for those without access to a platform.
