The Cinema announces Korean action film special and ‘Kono Natsu no Hoshi wo Miru’ screening

The film channel ‘The Cinema’ has announced a special broadcast feature on August 23 titled ‘The Genealogy of Korean Action Movies.’ This project, held in conjunction with the ‘Filmarks Revival’ project, commemorates the 4K revival screening of ‘Train to Busan.’ The broadcast is divided into two phases: the dawn of Korean action cinema, featuring films such as ‘Shiri,’ ‘JSA,’ and ‘Silmido,’ and the era of superstar Ma Dong-seok, highlighting his recent hits.

Separately, a special one-day screening of the film ‘Kono Natsu no Hoshi wo Miru’ (Looking at the Stars This Summer) is scheduled for August 21. Directed by Tamaki Yamamoto and based on the novel by Mizuki Tsujimura, the film depicts the lives of students during the 2020 pandemic. To support the ‘corona generation,’ a special discounted ticket price of 1,000 yen is available for viewers under the age of 30.
