The Citadel defeated UNC Charlotte 43-41 in a triple overtime victory at Jerry Richardson Stadium. Running back Gavin Garcia led the Bulldogs with 137 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including a 25-yard score during the first overtime period.

After a 75-minute weather delay, the game saw significant momentum shifts. Backup quarterback Nick Billoups entered in the second quarter, contributing 91 passing yards and leading four scoring drives, including a 2-yard touchdown run in the second overtime. Charlotte's Cole Gonzales threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns but suffered two interceptions.

The Bulldogs secured the win in the third overtime after converting a two-point attempt, while Charlotte's subsequent attempt failed when a pass from Gonzales fell incomplete. This victory marks The Citadel's 10th win over an FBS program since the division split in 1978.
