The Clayfield boutique hotel opens in Niagara-on-the-Lake

The Clayfield, a new 102-room boutique hotel, has officially opened in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. As part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection, the property offers a contemporary alternative to the historic inns and vineyard estates typical of the region.

Developed by John Hawley and David Feldberg, founder of Stratus Vineyards, the project is a central component of the Clayfield Commons mixed-use development. The hotel features 60 guestrooms and 42 residential-style accommodations designed for extended stays, including kitchenettes and separate living areas.

Designed by Montreal-based Sid Lee Architecture, the building utilizes curved forms and timber elements inspired by the Niagara Escarpment and local vineyards. Amenities include Terrain, a wine-country restaurant by Ascari Group, a full-service spa, and a rooftop terrace overlooking the surrounding landscape.
