The Clearing House selects Quant for tokenized deposit network

The Clearing House has selected Quant as the technology partner for its On-Chain Money Initiative. This project aims to integrate tokenized deposits into the United States financial infrastructure by connecting them to existing payment rails, specifically the Real-Time Payments (RTP) and Clearing House Interbank Payments System (CHIPS) networks.

Quant will provide the necessary interoperability, coordination, and transaction-management layers for the network. Unlike public stablecoins, which are liabilities of non-bank issuers, tokenized deposits will remain the legal obligations of the originating bank, maintaining the existing regulatory and banking frameworks while introducing programmable features.

These programmable deposits could automate payments based on predefined conditions, potentially streamlining corporate treasury operations, liquidity management, and cross-border transactions. Participating financial institutions are expected to gain access to the network during the first half of 2027.
