The Clearing House to invest $11.5 million in Charlotte operations center

The Clearing House has selected Charlotte, North Carolina, over Atlanta for a new operations center, a move expected to create 200 high-paying finance jobs. The company, which manages payment networks for 25 of the nation’s largest financial institutions, will invest $11.5 million in the expansion.

The company’s systems, including the CHIPS network, handle more than $2 trillion in daily payments. The new roles, which include positions in finance, payments, risk, compliance, legal, and corporate operations, are expected to pay an average of $162,322 per year. Hiring is projected to take place between 2028 and 2032.

To support the project, North Carolina has approved incentives totaling up to $2.43 million over 12 years. State officials estimate the investment could contribute $1.3 billion to the state economy.
