The Co-operative Bank launches employment scheme for youth

The Co-operative Bank has launched ‘Brick by Brick’, a pioneering early careers programme designed to help young people transition from homelessness into sustainable employment. The initiative works in partnership with the charity Centrepoint to provide a structured support journey.

The programme includes employability workshops, the ‘Get Set Go’ classroom learning phase, mock interviews, and professional guidance. Participants undergo work experience at the bank, which can lead to permanent employment offers, bypassing the pressure of traditional formal interviews. To date, 35 young people have participated in the initiative, with several securing permanent roles within the bank’s contact centre.
