The Cure headlines Øyafestivalen with hit-filled set in Oslo
The Cure delivered a hit-filled, two-and-a-half-hour headlining set at the Øyafestivalen in Oslo, Norway. The performance featured a mix of new material from their 2024 album, ‘Songs Of A Lost World’, and classic tracks.
Frontman Robert Smith opened the show with ‘Alone’, followed by a sequence of fan favorites including ‘Pictures Of You’, ‘High’, and ‘Lovesong’. The setlist also included darker, atmospheric tracks such as ‘Burn’ and ‘Fascination Street’, as well as ‘Alt. End’ and ‘The Last Day of Summer’.
Observers noted a whimsical and embraced spirit from Smith, who engaged with the crowd through monologues regarding aging and time. Despite some notes on his vocal delivery, the performance was characterized by strong instrumentation from the band, including bassist Simon Gallup.
