The Da Vinci Code video game retro review

A retrospective review of the 2006 video game adaptation of ‘The Da Vinci Code’ examines the performance of the development studio, The Collective. Known for high-quality movie adaptations such as ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb’, the studio was expected to deliver a strong title for Take-Two.

However, the review suggests the studio was ‘out of their depth’ with this release. While the adventure game genre was a logical choice for a story centered on a Harvard professor rather than an action hero, the game failed to meet the standards of quality expected in puzzles and storytelling required for the genre.
