The Dead Billies announces reunion after 25 years

The Brazilian psychobilly band The Dead Billies has announced its return to the stage after a 25-year hiatus. The group, which originally formed in Salvador in the early 1990s, ceased activities in 2001 following the departure of their previous vocalist.

Most of the original lineup is returning, including Rex on guitar, Joe Gomes on bass, and Morotó Slim on drums. They will be joined by a new vocalist, Dastaev, formerly of the rockabilly band Dasta & The Smokin’ Snakes.

The band’s comeback performance, titled ‘Night of the living Dead Billies’, is scheduled for October 31 at Largo da Tieta in Pelourinho, Salvador. In addition to live shows, the group plans to record new material.
