The Deli in Evansville Closes, Global Exchange Set to Open Downtown

The Deli, a longtime lunchtime favorite inside the Old National Bank building in downtown Evansville, Indiana, will close its doors on Thursday, July 30 after the bank chose not to renew its lease. Owners Scott and Patti Nickens said they are not retiring and are actively looking for a smaller space, about 1,600‑1,700 sq ft, to continue serving the community.

Meanwhile, local restaurateur Randy Hobson and his Pangea Restaurant Group are preparing to launch a new concept called Global Exchange at the same One Main Street location. Planned to open on Monday, August 10, the restaurant will feature breakfast, lunch and an elevated coffee program, highlighting locally sourced ingredients and dishes inspired by world cuisines.
