The Devil Wears Prada 2 streams 15.2 million views, Disney’s biggest live‑action debut since Deadpool & Wolverine

The sequel to the 2006 comedy, The Devil Wears Prada 2, recorded more than 15.2 million global views in its first five days on Disney+ and Hulu. Disney calculated the figure by dividing total streaming time by the film’s 119‑minute runtime, making it the platform’s largest live‑action movie launch since the 2024 Marvel title Deadpool & Wolverine.

The film’s theatrical run was also strong, grossing about $220.6 million in the United States and $691 million worldwide against a $100 million budget. It reunited original stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, and added newcomers such as Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu and Simone Ashley. Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the movie is based on characters created by Lauren Weisberger.

Critical reception was positive, with a 78 % critics’ score and an 84 % audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, underscoring the sequel’s broad appeal both in cinemas and on streaming services.
