The Document Foundation releases LibreOffice 26.2.7 update

The Document Foundation has released LibreOffice 26.2.7, which serves as the final maintenance update for the 26.2 series. This release addresses approximately 20 bugs to improve stability and compatibility before the version reaches its official end of support.

Key improvements focus on document compatibility, particularly regarding DOCX files. Fixes include resolving issues where hyperlinks in tables of contents failed to function and preventing errors that rendered certain DOCX documents with date fields unreadable in Microsoft Word. The update also improves PDF export functionality by ensuring named hyperlinks remain active.

In the Calc spreadsheet application, support has been added for .iqy web-query files. The Impress presentation module received fixes for audio playback issues on Windows, specifically regarding embedded MP3 files. For macOS users, the update resolves startup crashes and display issues on Apple Silicon systems. Additionally, the integrated Python interpreter has been updated to version 3.12.16.
