The Dot digital hub marks five years in Tunisia

The Tunisian digital innovation hub, The Dot, has celebrated its fifth anniversary, reporting that it has supported more than 500 startups since its launch in 2021. The center has organized over 3,000 ecosystem events and currently manages six active programs.

Key achievements include the incubation of 140 startups from ten different governorates and the support of 37 startups founded by members of the Tunisian diaspora. Through the Tech216 initiative, the hub has also engaged nearly 130 international companies.

Badreddine Ouali, president of the Fondation Tunisie pour le Développement and co-founder of the initiative, emphasized the need to expand this entrepreneurial model beyond the capital. He proposed strengthening connections with ELIFE centers located in regional areas to provide better skill-building and business creation opportunities for youth in the country's interior.

The hub operates through a public-private and international partnership involving the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies, Expertise France, the German cooperation agency (GIZ), and the Fondation Tunisie pour le Développement, with financial support from the European Union.
