The Echo Chamber faces heavy criticism at Venice Film Festival
Andrea Pallaoro’s film, ‘The Echo Chamber’, has become a focal point of public criticism at the Venice Film Festival. The film, which features Luca Marinelli and Alicia Vikander, follows a music producer struggling with addiction and explores dual timelines within a single apartment.
During the festival’s ‘Ridateci i soldi’ event, organized by Codacons, the film received significant negative feedback from the audience. Cristian Poletti was awarded the ‘Coppa Codacons’ for his satirical commentary on the work, which joked that the film should have been titled ‘The Echo Bathroom’ due to the high number of scenes set in a bathroom. The film was identified as the most criticized title of the 2026 festival showcase.
