The Editory Collection Hotels acquires Sapientia Boutique Hotel in Coimbra

The Editory Collection Hotels, a subsidiary of SC Investments under Grupo Efanor and the family of Belmiro de Azevedo, announced the acquisition of the Sapientia Boutique Hotel – Books & Wine in Coimbra, Portugal. The 4‑star boutique hotel, located on Rua José Falcão, comprises 22 rooms spread across three historic buildings and includes the Tasca das Tias Camella restaurant and a rooftop venue called “Cheio de Estrelas.”

The purchase will be completed gradually, with full integration expected by the end of 2026. All 27 current staff members will be retained, and the existing owners — singers André Sardet and partners Catarina Dutra, José Manuel Portugal and Maria Israel — will continue to cooperate during the transition to preserve the hotel's distinctive literary‑inspired identity.
