The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered gameplay leaks ahead of Switch 2 launch

Leaked gameplay footage for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has surfaced ahead of its scheduled August 11 release on the Nintendo Switch 2. The leaks, reportedly stemming from early physical copies circulating due to retailer shipments, have sparked debate regarding the game's technical performance and difficulty.

Technical specifications indicate the game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 for graphics and the original Gamebryo engine for physics and AI. The developer has targeted a resolution of 1080p in docked mode and 900p in handheld mode, aiming for a consistent 30 FPS aided by DLSS technology. However, early footage has shown performance instability in docked mode, with frame rates occasionally dropping below 30 FPS and issues including memory leaks, long loading times in dense areas, and blurred graphics during open-world exploration.

While some users have described the port as "decent," others have noted that the PC version reportedly requires a patch. The leaked footage also featured actor Wes Johnson in a sound booth as the character Sheogorath.
