The Flaming Lips announce deluxe box set for ‘At War with the Mystics’

The Flaming Lips have announced a deluxe box set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album ‘At War with the Mystics’. Scheduled for release on November 13 via Rhino and Warner Records, the collection will be available in 6CD, 6LP, and digital formats.

The remastered anthology includes the original album alongside a significant amount of archival material, such as 19 previously unreleased demos, 14 unreleased studio recordings, and 42 extra tracks including B-sides and alternative versions. The CD version will also feature audio recordings from the concert films ‘U.F.O.s At The Zoo’ and a live performance at the Hollywood Bowl.

To preview the release, the band has shared two demos for the track ‘The Sound of Failure’. Originally released in 2006, ‘At War with the Mystics’ earned Grammy Awards for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and Best Engineered Album (non-classical).
