The Floor contestants face physical strain during France 2 filming
Participants of the France 2 game show ‘The Floor, À la conquête du sol’, hosted by Cyril Féraud, face significant physical challenges during filming. Contestants must defend territories on a massive floor made of 100 LED tiles, often remaining standing for cumulative periods of up to 20 hours.
Contestants have reported physical ailments such as lower back pain and muscle contractions due to the prolonged standing. To manage these issues, two osteopaths are present on set or backstage to assist players during breaks. Additionally, participants noted that the LED screens forming the floor generate heat beneath their feet.
Thomas Carre-Pierrat, program director at the production company Satisfaction, stated that the decision to exclude stools was primarily an aesthetic choice to ensure the visual appeal of 100 standing contestants and to prevent players from appearing slumped on camera.
