The Fourth Law and Odd Systems launch Project Foundation for thermal sensor production

The Fourth Law and Odd Systems have launched Project Foundation, a semiconductor initiative designed to mass-produce uncooled long-wave infrared (LWIR) sensors, also known as microbolometers. The project aims to secure thermal sensor sovereignty for Europe and the United States by quadrupling European output and doubling US output within three years.

Headquartered in the semiconductor hub of Eindhoven, the initiative plans to establish two primary fabrication facilities, named First Foundation and Second Foundation, located in Europe and the United States respectively. These facilities will utilize a shared technology base and proprietary sensor designs to serve defense and civilian sectors, including drones, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and industrial applications.

Both companies were founded in Kyiv in 2023 by Yaroslav Azhnyuk. The initiative seeks to leverage technical expertise and frontline experience with drone technology to build a reliable, large-scale manufacturing capacity that reduces dependence on external suppliers.
