The Fresh Market named best grocery store in America

The Fresh Market has been named the top grocery store in the United States in the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. In addition to winning the primary category, the supermarket chain secured first-place honors in several sub-categories, including Best Produce, Best Deli, Best Prepared Foods, and Best Bakery.

Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, the chain operates more than 170 locations across 22 states. CEO Brian Johnson attributed the success to the company’s focus on high-quality, fresh ingredients and a personalized shopping experience. He specifically highlighted the company’s commitment to in-store services, such as having multiple butchers on staff to provide fresh-cut meat daily, and their mission to provide extraordinary ready-to-eat meals.
