The Gambia joins African Union conference on vocational training strategy

The Gambia is participating in a high-level African Union conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, aimed at implementing the Continental Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Strategy for 2025–2034. The five-day event focuses on aligning national policies with labor market needs and transforming training programs through digital and green skills.

A Gambian delegation, including SASASNET Secretary General Ousman Sillah, engaged with African Union Commission officials to discuss strengthening TVET systems. The initiative seeks to improve collaboration among African nations to enhance skills development, entrepreneurship, and employment pathways.
