The Gambia signs 10-year fintech partnership with InTouch

The Gambian government has entered into a 10-year strategic partnership with Senegalese fintech company InTouch to enhance tax revenue collection and financial oversight. The agreement involves the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs and the Gambia Revenue Authority.

InTouch will provide a digital platform designed to monitor transactions in real time, process government payments, and reduce revenue leakages. A primary focus of the initiative is the oversight of the rapidly expanding online gaming sector. By providing authorities with independent access to transaction data, the system aims to reduce reliance on taxpayer self-declarations and improve revenue forecasting.

The platform will also introduce secure, interoperable payment infrastructure, allowing taxpayers to use mobile money and local partner outlets. Finance Minister Seedy K. M. Keita described the partnership as a major reform that will receive full government mobilization.
