The Ghost and the Gun film premieres in Jakarta

The historical action-drama film “The Ghost and the Gun” (also known as “Peluru Senja”) premiered at CGV Pacific Place Mall in Jakarta on October 23, 2026. Produced by Viking Sunset Studios, the film is set in Malaya in 1948 during the post-World War II period of instability following the withdrawal of British forces.

The narrative follows two World War II veterans—a Malayan soldier named Ishraq Wan and a British soldier named Abe—who find themselves trapped behind enemy lines. Despite their differing backgrounds and mutual suspicion, they must cooperate to protect a local village from armed militias while confronting their own wartime traumas.

Although the story is set in Malaya, the entire production and set reconstruction took place in Bali, Indonesia, utilizing the facilities of Viking Sunset Studios. The film features an international cast, including Malaysian actor Hazman Al Idrus, Indonesian actress Asmara Abigail, Fabian Loo, and Brett Tutor. Directed by Anshul Tiwari from a script by Abhi Kumar, the project highlights the psychological impact of war from an Asian perspective.
