The Gilded Age returns for Season 4 on November 1

HBO's period drama ‘The Gilded Age’ is set to return for its fourth season on November 1, 2026. The upcoming season will consist of eight episodes and will be available on HBO Max.

Following the events of the third season, the narrative focuses on the social power struggles and family conflicts within New York's high society. Bertha Russell, played by Carrie Coon, faces the consequences of her social climbing and shifting dynamics within her family after an assassination attempt on George Russell. Meanwhile, Agnes van Rhijn seeks to reclaim her former social standing, continuing the series' central theme of the conflict between old and new money.

At a PaleyFest premiere, actress Carrie Coon noted that her character, Bertha, is losing her sense of intimacy and is being forced to focus more on her home. Cynthia Nixon, who plays Ada Brook, described the character's evolution from a girlish figure to a woman who has learned to stand up for herself and lead a household.
