The GlenAllachie unveils whisky matured in rare Mongolian virgin oak
The GlenAllachie Distillery has launched the fourth installment of its Sinteis Series, featuring a 10-year-old single malt Scotch whisky matured in rare Mongolian virgin oak, Pedro Ximénez, and Oloroso sherry casks.
This limited edition marks the first time Mongolian virgin oak, sourced from East Asian forests, has been used for a global Scotch whisky release. The wood, characterized by a tight grain and high density, is noted for imparting nuances of caramel, sandalwood, and oriental incense. The whisky was initially matured in bourbon barrels before being transferred to sherry casks and finally to the Mongolian oak.
