The Golden Cobra returns to BBC Three for second series

The award-winning animated comedy series ‘The Golden Cobra’ is returning for a second season, featuring 12 new episodes. Produced by Beastly Media, the show will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three starting September 26, with broadcasts on BBC One Wales beginning October 2.

Set in Ebbw Vale, the series follows Basil, who now operates the town’s only curry house following the imprisonment of his rival. The creators, Adam Llewellyn, James Prygodzicz, and Thomas Rees, describe the show as a loving tribute to the Welsh Valleys where they grew up. The production aims to provide representation for the region, which the creators note has historically seen limited depiction on national television.

The new season includes guest voices such as Diane Morgan and filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman. A behind-the-scenes documentary is also scheduled for release on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three on October 3.
