The Good Sister film explores themes of loyalty and sexual assault accusations

The Good Sister is the debut feature film by German director Sarah Miro Fischer. The narrative follows Rose, an nurse played by Marie Bloching, who maintains a close and affectionate relationship with her brother, Sam. This bond is tested when a woman accuses Sam of sexual assault, leading Rose to be called as a witness in the investigation.

The film explores the moral complexities and psychological impact on those surrounding an accused individual. Rather than portraying the perpetrator as a stereotypical monster, the story examines the discomfort of loving someone accused of violence and the protagonist's journey from denial to a confrontation with reality.

Following a successful presentation in the WIP Europa section of the San Sebastian International Film Festival, where it received an award, and a showing in the Panorama section of the Berlinale, the film has been acquired by New Europe Film Sales.
