Melbourne-based band The Great Emu War Casualties has released a new single titled ‘Cold Food Ave’. The track marks a shift toward a more energetic garage-rock sound compared to the indie-pop style of their debut album, ‘Public Sweetheart No. 1’.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Joe Jackson described the song as a reflection on the uncertainty of the future. The track is a preview of the band’s upcoming five-track EP, ‘Mal Du Siecle’, which is scheduled for release on November 6. The band is also set to launch the single with a performance in Melbourne.
