The Greenbrier secures $500 million deal with Kennedy Lewis Investment Management
The Justice family, owners of The Greenbrier resort, has finalized a $500 million financial deal with New York-based Kennedy Lewis Investment Management (KLIM) to resolve debts and fund capital improvements. The agreement, described as a joint venture, reportedly gives the investment firm a majority stake and board control.
To facilitate the transaction and satisfy requirements for the transfer of the casino license to a new holding company, the Greenbrier Casino Club will temporarily shut down. This closure is expected to result in the layoff of approximately 90 employees. The deal involves securing the loan with resort properties, land, and timber assets.
The financial restructuring has also led to the dismissal of legal disputes. Lawsuits in both state and federal courts regarding the control of the hotel—which included allegations of collusion between lenders and White Sulphur Springs Holdings—have been settled and dismissed following the agreement.
