The Guild announces GraphQL Yoga 2.0 and merge-graphql-schemas maintenance

The Guild has announced significant updates to the GraphQL ecosystem, including the release of GraphQL Yoga 2.0 and the acquisition of maintenance for the merge-graphql-schemas library.

GraphQL Yoga 2.0 has been rewritten from scratch to prioritize performance, developer experience, and easy setup. The new version follows a ‘convention over configuration’ approach and is designed to be compatible with various HTTP server libraries and deployment environments, such as Express and Nexus. It aims to reduce dependency overhead by including features like subscriptions, file uploads, and CORS within a single import.

Additionally, The Guild is taking over ownership and maintenance of merge-graphql-schemas from the OK-GROW! team. This library will be integrated into The Guild’s existing suite of schema management tools, which includes GraphQL-Toolkit and GraphQL Inspector. A new beta release (1.6.0-beta) has been issued, featuring a refactored implementation that utilizes GraphQL-Toolkit to address existing issues while maintaining compatibility.
