The Guild Kickstarter Raises Over $2.6 Million for 20th‑Anniversary Film

Felicia Day launched a Kickstarter to fund a feature film titled *The Guild: Ren Faire’d* to celebrate the web series' 20th anniversary. The campaign set an initial goal of $1.5 million, but the target was surpassed within hours and more than $2.6 million was raised in under two days, breaking Kickstarter records for an independent film.

Day chose crowdfunding after a Hollywood executive suggested recasting the original cast with younger actors. The new film will reunite the original cast—Day, Amy Okuda, Jeff Lewis, Robin Thorsen, Vince Caso and Sandeep Parikh—and include guest appearances by Brett Sheridan, Tara Caso and Wil Wheaton. Executive production is handled by Ryan Copple and direction by series veteran Sean Becker.
