The Hague enforcement action recovers 100,000 euros in unpaid vehicle tax

During a large-scale enforcement operation in the Duindorp and Scheveningen areas of The Hague, authorities recovered nearly 200,000 euros in unpaid motor vehicle taxes. One individual notably paid 100,000 euros in outstanding tax debt immediately upon being notified during the roadside check.

The Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration inspected 38 vehicles, identifying over 190,000 euros in total tax debt. Simultaneously, the Municipality of The Hague conducted its own enforcement, seizing twelve vehicles for a total of 78,000 euros in unpaid debts and issuing wheel clamps to nine vehicles for outstanding parking fines.

The operation also included traffic safety checks. Out of 100 vehicles inspected at Dr. Lelykade, 49 drivers received citations for offenses including driving without a license, failing to show identification, not wearing seatbelts, and using a mobile phone while driving. Police also used drug-sniffing dogs to seize illegal substances and arrested drivers for driving under the influence. Additionally, authorities inspected 28 fatbikes to check for illegal speed modifications.
