Den Haag drug lab evicts 150 residents, four suspects arrested

Police in The Hague discovered a large illegal drug laboratory in a residential building on Meidoornstraat after receiving a report of a strange odor. The lab contained thousands of liters of chemicals stored in containers and was believed to be producing MD MDMA and ecstasy tablets.

Around 150 residents were evacuated twice within 24 hours as specialist teams removed the hazardous material. The operation continued into Saturday, with containers, IBC tanks and equipment being pumped out and securely destroyed. Residents were told they could return around midnight.

Four men aged 34 to 71 were arrested in connection with the lab – a 39‑year‑old from The Hague who was found in the chemical fluid and taken to hospital, a 34‑year‑old from Voorburg, a 44‑year‑old from The Hague and a 71‑year‑old from Leiden. The investigation remains ongoing.
