The Hague is experiencing a significant tourism boom. Traditionally known for its institutional importance, the city is seeing a rise in summer visitors drawn to its mild temperatures and North Sea beaches. Data from the European Travel Commission and major platforms indicate that overnight stays in the city have increased by 60% over the last decade. Notably, visits from travelers in Mediterranean countries like Italy and Spain have grown by 9% in the last two years.

To manage this growth, local authorities are implementing measures to promote sustainable tourism, including limiting Airbnb licenses and restricting the construction of new hotels.
