The Hangart creative space recreates 12 Vietnamese craft villages
The Hangart, a 3,000-square-meter creative space in Da Nang, is recreating 12 traditional Vietnamese craft villages to promote cultural heritage through immersive tourism. The venue offers 16 regular workshops where visitors can engage in hands-on activities such as making do paper, pottery inspired by Thanh Ha village, Kim Bong wood carving, hand embroidery, and natural fabric dyeing.
Beyond traditional crafts, the space includes workshops for making essential oils, herbal soaps, and traditional cakes. The initiative aims to preserve heritage at risk of being lost, such as certain folk painting and silk techniques, by integrating them into modern lifestyle experiences.
According to sales manager Kim Thao Linh, international tourists make up over 80% of the visitors, with significant numbers arriving from Japan, China, Russia, the Philippines, and Thailand. The model seeks to provide a sustainable path for cultural preservation while creating livelihoods for local artisans and fostering community economic development.
