The Hellacopters announce departure of founding guitarist Dregen

Swedish rock band The Hellacopters has officially announced the permanent departure of founding guitarist Dregen (Andreas Tyrone Svensson). The decision follows a long-term hand injury that has prevented him from performing with the group for approximately three years.

The band stated that the damage to his fingers is permanent, making it impossible for him to play most of the band’s repertoire, although he remains able to play rhythm guitar to some extent. While the separation marks a significant shift for the group, the band emphasized that Dregen remains a vital part of their family and will maintain a spiritual connection to the band.

LG Valeta, who has been filling in for Dregen since the injury occurred, will continue as a permanent member of the lineup. The Hellacopters, formed in Stockholm in 1994, are a prominent fixture in the Swedish rock scene.
