The Historic New Orleans Collection celebrates 60 years

The Historic New Orleans Collection (HNOC) will celebrate its 60th anniversary on Thursday, October 29, with an event titled “Cheers to 60 Years!”. Founded in 1966 by General and Mrs. L. Kemper Williams, the institution has evolved from a private collection into a major museum, research center, and publisher.

Located in the French Quarter on Royal and Chartres streets, HNOC maintains the world’s largest collection of materials dedicated to the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South. The institution offers free museum access and houses various rare manuscripts, photographs, and exhibitions.

The anniversary celebration includes a patron party followed by a main event featuring food from local restaurants, live music, and a silent auction to support the institution.
