The Hunger Games franchise announces prequel and theatrical re-releases

The Hunger Games franchise is preparing for the release of a new prequel, ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise in the Harvest’, scheduled for November 19. The film will explore the events of Panem 24 years before the original series, focusing on the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.

Australian actor Joseph Zada has been cast as the young Haymitch Abernathy, the character previously portrayed by Woody Harrelson. Zada, 21, described the intensive casting process as a demanding experience that prepared him for the nature of the film.

In anticipation of the new release, the four original films in the saga will return to theaters starting October 15. This screening event includes ‘The Hunger Games’ (2012), ‘Catching Fire’ (2013), ‘Mockingjay – Part 1’ (2014), and ‘Mockingjay – Part 2’ (2015).
