The Hunger Games franchise returns to theaters for special marathon

Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment are bringing the five existing Hunger Games films back to theaters for a special marathon from September 3-7. This event serves as a celebration of the franchise ahead of the upcoming release, Sunrise on the Reaping.

The marathon includes a screening of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 on September 5. Originally released in 2014, the film follows Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, as she becomes the face of a rebellion against President Snow. The film features Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee, a former Head Gamemaker working secretly for the rebellion. Hoffman passed away in February 2014 during the production of the sequel, leading filmmakers to rewrite his remaining scenes rather than recasting the role.
